Care Packages

Ann from Red Thread ,a site we use to send care packages to Mia in China, sent us these photos of  the items we sent to our Mia.  The first 2 are of the first care package and the last one is the one we just sent.  The translated letters are telling her how much we love her and cannot wait to have her as a part of our family.  Also the photo album is 20 photos of us so that she will know who we are when she meets us.  Some of the items (the five pairs of PJ's and shirts, candy, tea etc.) are for her nannies and the other children.  We pray we don’t have to wait much longer and can hold her in our arms soon!  Currently it is looking like it is going to be December.

You Might Be Adoptiong from China If....

You Might Be Adopting From China If…
~You know that I-600 & I-171 aren’t highways…
~You’ve been expecting a child for over 3 years…
~You understand that it’s 2006 in some parts of the world…
~You’ve “paid for” 3 citizenships, but never brought anyone into the U.S…
~You know that waiting for China has nothing to do with Dillards or dishes…
~Your homestudy is followed by a number (i.e. #3 or #4)…
~You never know how many days next month will have…
~You know that babies come in batches…
~You’ve been fingerprinted four or more times, but never committed a crime…
~You automatically assume everyone who is expecting is having a girl…
~You own new clothing in 3 little sizes for all 4 seasons (because you don’tknow when or how big)…
~You look twice when you see a lady bug…
~You’re more interested in what will happen in May 2006 than in Sept 2010…
~You know people who understand when you talk about 2 day months & 5 day months…
~Your due date hasn’t changed by days, but by years…
~You know who the Rumor Queen is … AND … you don’t know who she is…
~You know that forecast doesn’t have anything to do with the weather…
~You’ve waited so long, they re-checked your fingerprints to see if they changed…
~Trying to understand why they’re printing you again, you study your own fingerprints and wonder if fingerprints grow wrinkles…
~When you speak of “that time of month” you’re talking about CCAA updates & referrals…
And finally…You might be adopting from China if you love someone you’ve never met with all your heart!

Wo Ai Ni Mommy – Chinese Adoption Documentary

Wo Ai Ni Mommy (I love you Mommy) is a documentary I have been waiting many months to come out.  It aired on television on August 31, 2010 but you can watch it free online until Nov. 30, 2010.   The link is:  http://video.pbs.org/video/1578579830/.
Without giving anything away, the documentary is about an American family who chooses to add to their family by adopting an older little girl (8 years old) from China.
I have watched the documentary twice now and have so many thoughts swimming through my head.  Again, I do not want to give anything away but would love to hear all your thoughts and what you all think.

Watch the full episode. See more POV.

Mia it is!

Just a quick update to let you all know...Mia it is!  Hence the new blog name.  Her middle name has still not completely been determined but we are leaning heavily toward Mia Michael.  Thanks for all your input both on and offline.
